A year ago, i wouldn't have imagined myself wearing anything velvet, I would have thought it's something my grandma and her friend would wear. However, the vintage trend and all the big designers ( like Balmain, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Salvator Ferragamo, Chanel...) have changed my mind. They really put the magic in velvet, enchanted it with the perfect cut, floral prints and mixed it with pearl, silk and leather... to keep the classic and elegant feel of the materialwhile still making the design look chic and sexy.

Velvet has not only been seen on the winter collection for long gowns, cocktail dresses, sweaters and blazers but designers are also using them for resort wear. Spotted on the 2013 runway of Chloe, Kenzo, Bonetta Venneta... In pencil skirts and straight pants!

And of course, accessories, from little purses to giant clutches to shoulder bags; from
thigh high boots to little heels to flatsand loafers; from hats to hairbands to necklaces and bracelets...velvet has been used to the max.

Enjoy the velvet season and take a look at some velvet pieces I picked out for you, guys!
